Think Realistically About Small Business Ownership
Being a small business owner is not for everyone. Whether youre already in business, or just thinking about starting a business of your own, this is a good time to ask yourself the following questions:
· Do I have the energy to run my own business?
· Do I have the personal characteristics of a successful business owner?
· Can I make enough time to run my own business?
· What else do I need to know about the specific business and industry to compete with established businesses?
· Am I being realistic about how much money Ill need to start my own business and about how I can get that money?
· Am I being realistic about how much money Ill be able to earn with my own business?
· Am I excited about doing the hard work of learning about my customers, my competition, my industry, and business management itself?
· If my business fails, what will that mean for me?
· Is this the right time for me to pursue my business-ownership dream, or should I work now on conducting research and on adjusting my life so that Ill have the knowledge, skills, time, energy, money and personal support network to help me succeed?
Whatever decision you make, we wish you success!
